MYMK 2025 with Keebmunity, Our First Home Turf Event

We attended MYMK2025, organised by Keebmunity, held at EmHub, Kota Damansara on 30 August 2025. We travelled down as a team of four, driving all the way from Penang.

This was our first home turf event in Malaysia, and it felt different in a good way. Being able to present our work to a local audience, in our own country, gave the event extra meaning. It was a chance to let Malaysians experience our keyboards in person rather than through photos and online posts.

We brought two boards with us. The slate75, which many of you are already familiar with, and a brand new concept board, FORM-1.

FORM-1 is inspired by race car engineering and performance driven design. The idea was to take the mindset of motorsport, where every curve, angle, and material choice exists for a reason, and translate that philosophy onto a keyboard. It is aggressive but controlled, expressive yet functional. The design was done by our designer, Haziq, who pushed the idea of speed, airflow, and mechanical presence into a form that still belongs on a desk. FORM-1 is not meant to blend in quietly. It is meant to be seen, questioned, and experienced.

For this event, we built a full 1 to 1 scale mock-up of FORM-1. The model was made using 3D printing, putty filler, and finished with spray paint. It allowed people to understand the proportions, stance, and visual weight of the board properly. The process behind this prototype deserves its own post one day, because it was a project on its own.

The event itself was packed from the moment it started. We were warmly welcomed by Elvn and William, the organisers behind Keebmunity. William is also the founder of Rae Creations, and both of them did an incredible job bringing the community together. The atmosphere was friendly, open, and full of conversations that never felt rushed.

We met many keyboard enthusiasts, builders, and makers throughout the day. One particularly special moment for us was meeting Geon from Geonworks. We have admired his work for a long time, so finally meeting him in person and having a proper chat felt surreal and meaningful.

One highlight that really stayed with us was getting our first Malaysian keyboard adopter at the event. Zenthegeek, a tech and electronics enthusiast, decided to go home with one of our boards. That moment meant a lot to us. Having someone from our own country support and believe in what we are building felt incredibly validating and motivating. It reminded us why we started in the first place.

We would like to thank Keebmunity, Elvn and William for organising such a well run event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, asked questions, shared opinions, and spent time with us. And of course, thank you to our early adopters and supporters. Your encouragement keeps us moving forward.

MYMK2025 was not just another event for us. It was a milestone. And it reminded us that this journey is as much about people as it is about keyboards.
